Hot Fishing!!!
The fluke action has been good this past week. The east cut and the basket are producing some quality fish; as well as the ocean. Anywhere from 60 to 90 feet of water to the east of the inlet. The reef and wrecks are holding some good sized porgy and seabass with some triggers and fluke mixed in too.
The striped bass are being pulled from the Shinnecock inlet mostly on the night tides drifting eels or "spot"; and at the Ponquogue bridge soaking some clams.
The Peconics has still got plenty of porgies especially around Rodgers rock and Jessup's neck.
The Shinnecock canal is loaded with snappers to the south end and porgies at the north end.
Fall striper season is rapidly approaching; so be sure to check out your surf gear and get it in for repair ASAP so you can be ready when the fish get here.
