Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there, hope you enjoy your day.

Shinnecock

The fluke bite continues to improve in the bay both east and west of the bridge on both in and outgoing tides. The keeper to short ratio is better than in years past but you still have to work for them. Squid, Spearing and gulp all working. Haven't heard much on an ocean fluke bite yet. Bluefish remain in the bay chasing bait, best on the dawn and dusk tides on tins. A few striped bass have fallen in the slot for those trolling umbrellas and those drifting live baits. Those who are chumming at the bridge have seen mostly schoolie bass. The main body of the fish seem to be under or over the slot. The bunker schools in the ocean east and west of the inlet are holding a few fish but a hunt to each school is required. We did here of our first Trigger fish sighting chasing a fluke bait in the inlet.

Peconics

The main story of the season continues to be the large amount of 2-3lb weakfish in the Peconics. The weaks are up near Jessups in good numbers and taking squid strips and jigs. Porgies are in good supply and are taking clam baits. Use some clam chum to get them under the boat. Best bite near Rogers Rock and Jessups. There are schoolie bass and some bluefish around too.

Shorebound

The Shinnecock canal is holding fluke on the south end and porgies to the north end from the jetties. Over at the Ponquogue bridge there have been fluke, bluefish and some bass on the night tides. Shinnecock inlet has produced a few decent bass taken on bucktails and some blues taken on tins. Fluke should be in the inlet too. The ocean beaches are producing some cocktail blues and schoolie bass at dawn and dusk.
